Batman And His Greatest Enemies & Allies Are Redesigned In Classic Disney Animation Style Via DC Art

Batman and his rogues have been realized in countless different styles, although corporate restrictions may have kept the DC Universe characters from one particular Disney style, until now. Across animation, live-action, and comic books, the characters’ realizations have been products of DC, a company owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, one of Disney’s largest competitors. Fortunately, this branding difference has not stopped fan artists from the internet from taking these characters and reimagining them in this iconic style.

In a series of images shared several weeks ago to Instagram by eroz.ai, Batman and several of Gotham’s Rogues Gallery are reimagined in the style of classic Disney animation. The user’s profile describes them as an “A.I Enthusiast” as well as a “Superhero & Villain Lover“, which is clear from their many posts. The user has shared many creative images that reimagine famous pop culture characters in all kinds of different styles, from anime heroes and villains to The Simpsons.

In these recent photos, Batman is transformed into a smiling hero reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast‘s Gaston. The user has also provided creative looks at characters including Joker, Catwoman, and Mr. Freeze. His Robin, which appears to be the Damian Wayne iteration soon to be seen in the DCU’s Batman: The Brave & The Bold movie, also seems to have a sword’s scabbard at his waist, suggesting different abilities and tools for the heroes. Each of these iterations would be interesting to see in a feature film or animated series.

Breaking Down Batman’s Disney Designs

Batman’s Style Must Always Feel True To The Character

It is incredibly unlikely that DC and Disney would ever collaborate on an animated project. Warner Bros. has their own animation branches, which have created some of the best Batman animated series imaginable. However, seeing the hero and his villains in this different style is a refreshing take on the characters that does suggest that there is much flexibility in how they can be used. Even with such a specific translation in art style, each of these images still feels true to the roots of the heroes and villains.

This likely speaks to the philosophy behind the upcoming DCU, which is set to see animation and live-action crossover. To do this, it is important that any animation style, no matter how unique, as in the case with Batman’s next animated movie, still feels consistent to the character. With the DCU, various animated forms of Batman and his rogues will likely crossover with live-action versions. Seeing how that could be executed, through images like this fan art provides, makes the prospect even more exciting.

Our Take On The Batman Disney Fan Art

These Images Are Refreshing And Fun

While DC will not be making any films with Disney Animation any time soon, this kind of art makes me wonder if an MCU Disney animated film could occur. The style is flexible, while still allowing the characters’ roots to shine through. I would love to see more iconic characters realized in this style, and using it for adaptation could be a fun way to tell a different kind of superhero story. Fortunately, Batman has had his own distinct animation styles through the years at Warner Bros., and we will certainly see more of those in the future.

Batman

One of DC’s most iconic heroes, Batman is the vigilante superhero persona of billionaire Bruce Wayne. Forged by tragedy with the death of his parents, Bruce dedicated his life to becoming the world’s leading martial artist, detective, and tactician. Recruiting an entire family of allies and sidekicks, Bruce wages war on evil as the dark knight of his hometown, Gotham City.
